Serum total T3 and T4 levels in the foetus at birth, compared with maternal levels.
Foetal T3 levels tend to be low; this is probably the result of low T4 to T3 conversion in placenta and some foetal tissues. T3 levels in human foetal brain and liver are, however, near adult levels.
